Amrita aka Coolie had suffered from a decade of chronic illness, riddled with digestive disturbances, chronic fatigue, and lingering anemia. Her symptoms would wax and wane and come and go. She would lose weight rapidly and fall prey to pain, nausea, and weakness. Quite frankly, she was just not able to live her life. She was merely striving to survive through every given day. There was no guide intact and she had placed her faith in the people in the white coats, yet they were not coming through. In fact, for many years they were unable to give her a legitimate diagnosis. She just wanted answers and she was determined to find them. Through her entire walk, she had pursued a career in medicine. She studied pre-med and biological sciences in college and her dream was to become a medical doctor. She was absolutely astounded by the way the human body works. She studied it day in, day out. But still she found no answers. None pertaining to her healing. None that satisfied her, that rid her of her pain. She hopped from doctor to doctor and tried new drugs that was promised to attenuate her symptoms, and put her out of her misery. But failed.

After about a decade of stumbling and falling and getting back up and falling again, she reached what she likes to call an “enlightenment”. She learnt about natural and holistic healing modalities. She learnt to stop looking at the body in a reductionist view; she acknowledged the parts, but understood they were all really working together for one. She also learnt about the herbs and the power of food, after which she drastically changed her diet, cutting out processed foods and eventually flesh. She had quit her job at the clinic and dropped out of school all to dedicate her time and energy to healing. To become more in tune with her body, to gain knowledge of self, and to find the real answers. To find restoration. And she saw progress. And it all went well … but only for a limited time.

Soon after, she started to see a decline in her health, and started to develop newer and quite peculiar symptoms of chest pains, breathlessness, arrythmias, and feeling off balance. She couldn’t walk straight. Her sleep was disturbed, as she was waking up with night sweats, and a racing pounding heart. At this point, sleep was a luxury. Eventually she started to feel sensations that weren’t there like prickling or water splashing against her skin. Anxiety levels were through the roof and now she was even more confused. She quickly realized that healing might be a bit more complicated than she had previously perceived. She had doubted her walk. But kept walking.

On her journey she self-studied, met and learned from great mentors, and realized that having a guide by your side might just be a key piece to the intricate process of healing. There are so many pieces involved and it helps to have someone there to put things into perspective for you. To shed light on the true cause of what you might be going through. To show you and help you understand each and every one of those intertwining pieces and how they affect your healing. It’s not just about diet and herbs. That’s only one piece to this puzzle we call healing. There’s also a need for body movement, exposure to natural light, getting adequate sleep to rest and rejuvenate, and walking in harmony with nature. Not to mention, knowing how to deal with toxic relationships, or a quarrelsome boss at your job, or adjusting to poor air quality at your place of residence. All of these act as stressors and can play a role in your healing … or lack thereof.

Coolie have had to maneuver through each and every one of these pieces of the puzzle, which she understands may be a bit challenging for you as well. She gave up her prior aspirations of becoming a medical doctor in the allopathic health care system to walk with you on your journey. To help you find your puzzles pieces and to put them together. She implements and encourages work in all these areas, so you heal in a holistic manner. She vows to be your guide, your mentor. To help you set Health & Wellness goals, and establish an action plan. She provides consistent and unfailing support as you execute those plans to meet and maintain those goals. She motivates you and pushes you to appropriate limits and keeps you accountable on your path. She has used the knowledge she gained on her journey to help many come into the light and walk in their greatest power and purpose as they heal. This is ultimately what we should be doing… taking good care of our body and carrying out its greatest purpose here on this Earth. Afterall, you should know that your body is the temple of God and the Spirit dwells in you. So, you shall treat it as such. Heal. You can. And you will.
